Your privacy matters to us. This page explains what TechBlog News (https://technewsug.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. It applies to this website and any other site we operate.
TechBlog News is a technology news publication based in Uganda. For anything in this policy, write to info@technewsug.com.
We ask for personal information only when we genuinely need it, and we tell you why at the point we ask.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share personally identifiable information publicly or with third parties, except where the law requires it.
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected. Newsletter addresses are removed when you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your account and personal data at any time by emailing info@technewsug.com.
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed, never in readable form. We protect stored data by commercially reasonable means against loss, theft, and unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
Under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, and similar laws elsewhere, you may ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you may withdraw consent for our newsletter at any time. Email info@technewsug.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
You are free to refuse our requests for personal information, understanding that we may then be unable to provide some services, such as the newsletter.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Our articles and job listings link to sites we do not operate. We have no control over their content or practices and cannot accept responsibility for their privacy policies. Read their policies before sharing personal information with them.
Cookies are small files stored on your device. This site uses them for a small number of purposes, listed below. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site, especially signing in, will stop working.
Adverts on this site are plain pictures and links supplied by our sponsors. They set no cookies and send nothing about you to the advertiser. When you click one, we count the click and then take you to the advertiser's site, whose own privacy policy applies from there. If we add any other tracking beyond the above, we will update this page before doing so.
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
